It's Been a Few Weeks...

It's been a few too many weeks since my last post!  But it seems that when you are working a full time job, trying to spend as much time with your husband as you can while it's "just us two", and preparing for the sweet bundle of joy that will forever change your life, blog posts don't really stand out as a priority.  I do love writing these posts though.  And I know that a few years from now, when people ask me about my pregnancy, I'll be glad that I have these posts, even if only a few of them, to remember what my pregnancy was like.

A lot has been going on since my last post about our "Little Man or Little Miss" gender reveal party...

-I got to celebrate my first "unofficial" Mother's Day, and my sweet husband surprised me with a gorgeous baby book for our baby girl:

-Tilton got to celebrate his first "unofficial" Father's Day, and I surprised him with this hilarious--or at least I think so--onsie:
I bought the onsie at Hobby Lobby, and had it printed at Dirty Tease in Louisville.

-My belly has continued to grow and is now borderline gigantic! But I'm A-okay with it, since it just means that our sweet girl is growing larger and healthier by the day! Here are some belly shots to bring you up to speed...

At 23 weeks:

And 24 weeks:

And 25 weeks:

And 26 weeks:

And 27 weeks:

And 29 weeks:

And 30 weeks:

And 33 weeks:
Week 30 boggles my mind... My belly looks like it shrunk from week 29!  And from week 30 to 31, it looks like it doubled in size!  It was so weird! Maybe she was laying in a different position that week?

-Tilly's nursery is slowly coming together as we find and gather pieces that we love! We decided on a gray, pale pink, and white color scheme and I love it so far! I can't wait to see the finished product! And I'll be sure to post photos when it's complete! :)

-I had my first baby shower a few weekends ago, hosted by my amazing mom and sister, and it was incredible!  Having so many wonderful women gathered together to celebrate our sweet girl definitely made me feel blessed beyond words.  And the gifts were so wonderfully thoughtful! We are definitely much more prepared for Tilly's arrival now.  My mother-in-law is throwing us another shower in a few weeks, and we can't wait!  Any excuse to celebrate our baby girl is fine by us! :)

We are slowly checking off our pregnancy to-do list and preparing for Tilly's arrival.  I know that we will never be fully prepared for how much our lives are going to change, but being able to see that we are making some progress in our preparations puts my crazy, non-stop, pregnancy mind at ease.  Any recommendations from other mommas and daddies out there on the most important things to do before baby arrives are definitely welcome!

I can't believe how quickly time seems to be passing now.  We have less than (maybe) SIX WEEKS until we get to meet the wonderful new addition to our family! :)

Until next time...

  1. I have loved reading your blog throughout your pregnancy, you have got to be the cutest pregnant girl I have ever seen :)

Enjoy some time with Kyle just relaxing...she will be here before you know it. One thing we did that turned out really great for us was make some casserole dishes and soups and put them in the freezer so that when people stopped bringing meals by after Sam was born, I still didn't have to worry about doing anything for dinner other than popping something in the microwave.

Good luck throughout the last month!

Easy-Peasy Teacher Appreciation Gifts

My little bits just finished up her first year of preschool (PS1) last week, and just started her second year (PS2) this week.  Her first year at her school was nothing short of amazing, and I'm so happy with our decision to start her in the program last August.  Her teachers for PS1 were the best, so I wanted to give them a little something to show our appreciation and gratitude for all of the love, time, and patience they poured into our girl over the past 12 months.  I wanted to keep it simple, and give them something that they could appreciate and actually use, and eventually decided on a small succulent arrangement and a Starbucks gift card.  Because who isn't obsessed with succulents and coffee  right now always?!? I put the succulent arrangements together myself, and I love the way they turned out!  I picked up the white planters at Hobby Lobby for around $5 each.  The succulents came from Home Depot (their selection was HUGE) and ranged in...

Becoming a Runner: Week 4 Update

I now have 4 weeks of running under my belt, and I have to say that it feels amazing!   I made an improvement from my previous two weeks, and ran 4 days last week.   My goal was to run 5 days, and while I fell short of meeting that, I’m still so happy with my progress.   We were blessed with some AMAZING weather in Louisville last week, which definitely improved my mood and my motivation.   It was sunny and so much warmer, and running in 50 degrees is, without a doubt, easier than running in those freezing temperatures I ‘d been facing! Here’s what I did for Week 4 (January 11 – January 17): Day 22 (1.11.15): 2 mile jog <<Make up from Original Day 16, Supposed to do a 2 mile jog>> Day 23 (1.12.15): 1 mile jog, ¼ mile walk, 1 mile jog <<Make up from Day 17, Supposed to do a 1 mile jog, ¼ mile walk, 1 mile jog, ¼ mile walk, 1 mile jog>> Day 24 (1.13.15): Rest <<Supposed to do a 1 ½ mile jog, ¼ mile walk, 2 mile jog>> ...

Becoming a Runner: Week 3 Update

Week 3 of my 30-Day Running Challenge was similar to Week 2 in that it was not very exciting.   It’s been very cold here in Louisville—like, walk outside and you immediately freeze where you stand cold.   And because getting out of bed on time in the morning is a daily struggle for me, and I work 10+ hour shifts a day, my runs are limited to nighttime, when it’s blistering cold and all I want to do is crawl under a cozy blanket and cuddle with Tilton while watching our shows.   Needless to say, finding the motivation to run when I get home from work has been tough.   I’m doing my best to stick with it though.   During Week 3 (January 4 – January 10), I only ran 3 days again.   Bummer. Here’s what I did for Week 3: Day 15 (1.4.15): Rest (SICK) <<Supposed to be a rest day>> Day 16 (1.5.15): 2 ½ mile jog <<Make up from Original Day 12, Supposed to do 2 mile jog>> Day 17 (1.6.15): Rest <<Supposed to do a 1 mile jo...
