My New Favorite Sweet Treat...

http://sweetceces.com/index.html

Following a vegan diet means no consumption of animal products… No animal products means no dairy… No dairy means no ice cream… And no ice cream means that my selection of sweet and tasty summer treats is extremely limited.  But not to fear, Sweet CeCe’s has come to my rescue!

Sweet CeCe’s Frozen Yogurt and Treats is a delicious frozen yogurt shop on Bardstown Road in the Highlands (in Louisville, of course).   My family and I first tried it a few weeks ago and I immediately fell in love.  They have a crazy long list of flavors, and usually offer around 10 different flavors daily, so the available flavors are different each day.  They also have a ton of toppings to choose from…Fruit Loops...Snickers… Oreos… Strawberries… Chocolate Chips... Blueberries… Nuts… Pineapple… and of course cherries to top it all off!  But the list goes on and on and on…

The best part about Sweet CeCe’s for me though, is that they always offer a few vegetarian/non-dairy sorbet flavors for me to choose from!  So far I’ve had the Strawberry Kiwi Splash Sorbet and the Mystical Mango Sorbet… Both topped with fresh strawberries and pineapple…D-E-Licious!  I think the Mystical Mango is my favorite so far.

I love the fact that I get so excited about discovering delicious vegan-friendly options to satisfy my cravings!  And I love that I get to share my discoveries with you!  If you’re ever in the mood for a sweet treat and need some company, don’t hesitate to let me know!  I’m always up for a visit to CeCe’s! :)

Easy-Peasy Teacher Appreciation Gifts

My little bits just finished up her first year of preschool (PS1) last week, and just started her second year (PS2) this week.  Her first year at her school was nothing short of amazing, and I'm so happy with our decision to start her in the program last August.  Her teachers for PS1 were the best, so I wanted to give them a little something to show our appreciation and gratitude for all of the love, time, and patience they poured into our girl over the past 12 months.  I wanted to keep it simple, and give them something that they could appreciate and actually use, and eventually decided on a small succulent arrangement and a Starbucks gift card.  Because who isn't obsessed with succulents and coffee  right now always?!? I put the succulent arrangements together myself, and I love the way they turned out!  I picked up the white planters at Hobby Lobby for around $5 each.  The succulents came from Home Depot (their selection was HUGE) and ranged in...

Foodie Friday: Carrot Cake Gone Clean

I think I’ve just died and gone to carrot cake heaven! And the best part? I get to devour this entire plate guilt-free, because it’s clean and on my nutrition plan! HELLLLLLS YEAH!    A fellow fitness coach friend of mine shared this yummy recipe in our virtual fit group, and I can't get enough of it!  It's clean, healthy, and oh so simple, which makes it perfect for a delicious pre- or post-workout snack.  It's packed with veggies, protein, and healthy carbs, so all of your macros are covered.  And BONUS... You can make it into muffins for a quick grab-n-go option!  Just when I think this plan can’t get any better, I come across treats like this one that change the game!  And t hat’s what I LOVE about most about my business and these fit groups--Not only can I  count on my ladies for support and encouragement, but it offers us a place to swap healthy recipes and share tips and tricks to stay on track.  Basically, what I'm trying to sa...

My Two and a Half Year Blogging Hiatus

Hey there!  It's been a while since my last post--two and a half years, but who's counting?  As it often does, life got a little crazy, and blogging got pushed to the back burner.  But I've recently had an itch to start writing again. So here I am. I've missed it. And a lot has changed in our lives since I last wrote.  So let me bring you up to speed... I got a promotion at work, and am now the pharmacy manager of a local retail pharmacy. My husband is working to make his dream of being a full-time photographer a reality.  He's insanely talented, and the fact that he's completely self-taught amazes me! You can check out some of his work HERE . I've taken up photography as well, under my hunky husband's guidance, and I now photograph weddings alongside him.   Our beautiful mess of a daughter is THREE years old (where did that time go???).  She is incredible, and smart, and funny, and her zest for life is inspiring. We added a fur-bab...
